I got an E-mail from Peter Terpeluk, Chairman, RNC, the other day, suggesting that Sarah Palin wanted to meet me. I wrote back and in the subject line I said, “Make it happen”. “I want to meet her.” I sent it to firstname.lastname@example.org, but got the message their box was full. I persisted and found another E-mail address for Peter: email@example.com , but, I don’t know if he checks that one often enough.
Here is what I wrote:
"I have done a lot of political Constitutional Conservative writing in the National Writer's Syndicate, and have advocated for strong Constitutional Conservative candidates.
Now that ALIPAC is for the courts to sort out the allegations of Meg Whitman's angry maid, and the Democrats have trained her to say nasty things I think we would be better off backing someone like Chelene Nightingale, the American Independent, rather than the RINO who believes in a form of Amnesty for Illegals.
Chelene is also an independent businesswoman who believes in bringing back jobs to California, giving our children the RIGHT education, and supporting the free market system.
I am not like some Republicans: Live or Die with Our Party Members, good or bad. I believe, rather, Support, like the Tea Party, THE RIGHT PERSON for the job!!
See if it is not too late to invite Chelene as well as me."
Chelene Nightingale: American Independent
From her Campaign website:
“No other issue has dominated our political climate more than border security and immigration reform. In fact the debate is even more heated due to Arizona passing SB 1070 due to the federal government' s failure to protect legal citizens from a porous border and illegal alien invasion. Recent polling data proves an increasing number of Americans not only support Arizona, but also 76% of Americans want a decrease of the illegal alien population (CBS).
Per a Department of Homeland Security Report, California is the leading state of residence for illegal aliens. California is also the home of the greatest number of sanctuary cities.. The adverse effects of the Illegal Alien Population in California has been costly and includes the complete financial collapse of the sanctuary city, Maywood”
Other solutions include
• Ending all public benefits for illegal aliens.
• Enforcing immigration laws which include abolishing sanctuary city policies.
• Supporting the California Taxpayer Protection Act.
• Prohibiting in-state tuition for anyone here unlawfully.
There are 3 more candidates to choose from besides Chelene who have their briefs in the Official voter information guide for California:
Laura Wells: Green party
She says she’s for great schools, health, environment, jobs, and Justice. Laura doesn’t like coddling mega-corporations and billionaires. She wants to keep the “good” parts of prop 13 and “fix” the “rotten” parts… she is not in favor of the two thirds vote necessary for California legislators to be able to add new taxes.
From her campaign web page: “Laura Wells fully supports:
• gay rights including marriage equality,
• legalization of marijuana, and
• Fair immigration policy, in opposition to laws like Arizona's SB 1070.
Carlos Alvarez: Peace and Freedom
He’s for jobs, education, and healthcare. He’s against war and corporations.
Carlos is, “a member of United Food and Commercial Workers, Local 770, in Los Angeles. He is also a member of the Party for Socialism and Liberation.” (From his website, Carlos Alvarez for Governor).
More from that site: “Alvarez, who is openly gay, is also a leading figure in the LGBT movement for marriage equality and equal rights. He is 23 yrs old and has long been recognized as a community organizer to fight California's Proposition 8, and to demand an end to the U.S.-backed Israeli massacre of the Palestinian people.
Dale F. Ogden: Libertarian:
Says he will restore fiscal responsibility. He likes the line item veto and ballot initiatives. Believes a business-friendly, low tax environment without harmful, useless and overlapping state regulatory agencies will bring thousands of business and millions of jobs to California. Supports Prop. 19 – To legalize marijuana.
“Philosophically, I believe in open borders; However, until we eliminate welfare and end the war on drugs (and eliminate the potential for terrorism), we need to control our borders and keep our citizens and residents safe.” – From his web page.
I have long been of the belief that both major political parties in this country are only two sides of the same coin.
In order to save the country and have a viable Governor in California, we have to go outside party affiliations, from time to time, and vote our conscience and our firm beliefs, not any “Party slogans”!
Many people say, yeah, but, it’ll be another, “Ross Perot”. No. That was in 1992 and 1996. They didn’t have the internet then as they do now.
Jesse Ventura was elected Governor of Minnesota in 1998, when the internet was in its infancy, and he had no “Tea Party”.
The Tea Party strongly supports Candidate for Governor Nightingale and we have the 2010 power of the internet to help her win!
Take a look at the 4 candidate’s websites. You will come away impressed at what you see. Vote for the candidate you can back. Nightingale, Ogden, or Wells would be a better choice than Brown, in my humble opinion, and, only Alvarez would be similar.
Of course, if you must vote Republican, make sure you have a strong Lt. Governor in mind, in case Meg will be sitting out her term with a government issued anklet on her ankle, inside her house.
