….of the soul of a country lost and crying;
You speak of tomorrow with fear and doubt
Of denial and hate you scream and shout;
You speak of a country without justice at all
of a time when liberty shall wither and fall;
You speak of things that trouble your soul
ofthe flowers of yonder once young now old;
You speak loudly you speak clear
hoping and praying someone will hear;
You speak from your heartof times of old
now memories, whispers of life's sweeter songs
You speak of things to come before they unfold
You speak but do not hear the voices
coming to you in the night and whispering
to your soul words of brighter and
better things; You speak of death, demons,
and dying of the soul of a country lost and crying;
You speak of a country without justice at all
of a time when liberty shall wither and fall
Yet, you do not hear the cries of heroes from
grass covered graves assuring you
liberty in their arms will always be safe.
You speak but when will you hear
The American spiritwalking this land
always on guard always near?
