An NWS Reporter Review
I was raised in San Francisco, and like most San Franciscans, traveling to Napa valley was a wonderful and rewarding day trip. For us kids it was a delight. As young adults we could take trips to Clear Lake to water-ski … and the best route was through Napa Valley.
Although we were not old enough to sample the wines Napa Valley is known for, some of us could pass for 21 and did. As adults, we could legally sample the wines, which are undoubtedly the best wines in the world. And the Napa Valley food delights were out of this world, a veritable gourmet’s fantasy land.
As tourism exploded in Napa, restaurants of the highest quality flourished. World renowned restaurants such as Mustards; The French Laundry(which is considered one of the best of its kind in the world); Redd’s, located in Yountville Press and also in St Helena; Rutherford Grill, etc. … the list is endless. In Napa valley you can find some of the finest of any type food … food of the highest quality, more so than in any other place in the world, I am convinced.
Some years ago, I had moved from San Francisco to Florida and subsequently had yearned for the quality of food Napa Valley is renowned for … but alas, I was not able to find it.
Then one day I was traveling to Lake Mary Fl, a small town between Daytona Beach and Orlando and Viola!
To my surprise I found Napa Valley in Florida at “The Vineyard Wine Co.” I knew this was the place I had hoped for when I discovered the wine menu listed my favorite merlot, Duckhorn, from the Three Palms Winery. This restaurant’s typical Napa Valley fine food and wine selection is one of the best I have ever seen! And as a bonus, I was also able to order my favorite Harris Ranch steaks there!
Right then I found my home away from home. Dan, Robert and Erin, you have done a great job and have made me feel right at home.
