When I first heard of the deal that was made with Egypt (sending them F-16 fighter jet’s), I couldn’t believe it. When the “Middle East” is a tinder box, and all weapons are aimed at Israel, why would we send even more lethal weapons to a country that has openly called the people of Israel descendants of pigs and apes, and bloodsuckers? This makes no sense at all!
Also, President Morsi has made it rather clear that he has little to no respect for America and our way of life and freedom, but, we keep sending them money, now jet fighters. These decisions could come back to bite us, depending on which way President Morsi leads his country.
In and interview with Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren, Sen. Rand Paul added,” I’m also concerned that these are weapons that could come back to haunt us,” he recalled how the United States helped Osama bin Laden in the 1980s when he was a part of the Mujahideen in Afghanistan.
Paul was also ask what would happen if the fighter jet sale, which was arranged when former President Hosni Mubarak was still in power, was canceled, Paul said “he wasn’t sure how Morsi would react”.
Sen. Rand Paul went on to day that Morsi would probably be willing to negotiate if the sale was canceled.
Sen. Rand Paul was then ask, what would the U. S. ask for in return for jet fighters? “I would say to them, protect our embassy. Maybe you shouldn’t let hordes of people jump on top of our embassy and burn our flag and chant death to America”.
Paul went to acknowledge that” Egypt has the potential to play a broader role in helping to stabilize the Middle East, and still controls the important Suez Canal”.
Rep. Louie Gohmert , R.-Texas, told Fox News, “It is appalling that the Obama Administration would send F-16 and 200 military tanks to Egypt is wake of the instability, and the anti-American and the anti- Israel atmosphere”.
Sen. John Kerry D-Mass, on Thursday defended the Obama Administration (Gift) of four f-16s to Egypt.
Kerry during his confirmation hearing to be the next Secretary of State told Sen. Paul the foreign aid package was worked out under former president Hosni Mubarak in 2010 when Mubarak ruled Egypt.
Kerry went on to say” the fact that sometimes other countries elect someone you don’t agree with doesn’t give permission to walk away”.
Headlines from the Washington Free Beacon, “Egypt to receive f-16s, State Department refuses to delay delivery to (Muslim Brotherhood run Egypt)”.
The Washington free Beacon went on to report, ‘ I am alarmed and disappointed in the Obama Administration decision to decline my request to delay delivery of F-16s for further consideration said Sen. James Inhofe R- Oklahoma”.
In the beginning of my remarks I used the wording (Dumb), and after giving the situation much thought, I’m not sure that is strong enough language, maybe (Double Dumb) would have been more descriptive.
In other words, if someone such as the Muslim Brotherhood proved over and over they hated my existence and wished me gone. Would I send them the weapons to try? (heck no).
If someone called my friends Pigs and apes, and bloodsuckers, and has expressed their desire to wipe them off the face of the earth. Truly, it would be dumb of me to send them the weapons to do their wishes.
True, we made a deal with former President Hosni Mubarak, but, Mr. Mubarak isn’t there any longer, instead, Egypt now has a president that hasn’t shown any desire to be a peaceful neighbor to the Middle east, on the contrary, he has shown that he and the Muslim Brotherhood share no respect to the American way of life, nor the life of Israel.
